Tom Pemberton, a second-generation farmer in Lancashire, England, has amassed a huge online following thanks to his funny, touching videos about life on a farm. It makes sense! Who wouldn’t want a glimpse into a place that’s home to over 120 milking cows and other animals?
The 27-year-old never intended to become famous online, but the fact that his farm has a big following has brought him plenty of good fortune.
“I got into social media by mistake,” he explained. “I was trying to promote a raw milk vending machine in a video, which my girlfriend helped me with at the time. We posted the video on Facebook and YouTube — Facebook went really well with around 11,000 views and YouTube only got 200-300 views. That’s how it started, completely by mistake!”
These days, his videos regularly rack up millions of views. People are especially fond of seeing cows and sheep having their spring babies, but Tom aims to bring his fans “the highs, the lows, and everything in-between.”
One of the videos that he has uploaded got massively viral. It’s about the giant bristle brush that he provided for the animals on the farm. They lined up to take turns scratching their faces and necks against the stiff brush, which must have felt great against their skin.
It all started when his supporters have seen a glimpse of his adorable cows that were enjoying rubbing up on a giant scrub. That big thing is actually for animals so they could scratch any itchy part of their body.
The clip was a big hit on YouTube, so when summer rolled around and two companies approached Tom with a free brush for his outdoor pasture, the farmer jumped at the chance! He shared another video on his Farm Life pages, showing how they installed his new Mayo Cow Comfort brush in the pasture.
In it, we see the humans hard at work while the cows graze nearby. As soon as the final part of the brush is set up, the cows start meandering over to investigate.
When they reach it, they know exactly what to do!
It’s obvious these cows are thoroughly enjoying their new toy, and they’re just too cute for words! Tom captioned the video, “How to make over 100 cows extremely happy very quickly,” and it looks like he did just that.
Who knew a farmer’s life could be this much fun to follow? We’re so glad we got to “meet” Tom and see these sweet cows living their best lives.
