In 2014, Rademenes, 2 months old, arrived at an animal shelter in Poland when he had been given up for adoption. He has a serious upper respiratory infection, which caused him excruciating ᴘᴀιɴ. His owners brought him the shelter to be ᴇuтнᴀɴιzᴇᴅ, but the doctors decided to give him a second chance. The cat had to be quarantined due to his contagious condition. With the loving, caring and devoting treatment, Rademenes made it, surprisingly!
Lucyna Kuziel-Zawalich, a shelter veterinarian, explained : “Rademenes came to us at the turn of September and October. Previous owners brought him to shorten his suffering.”
After crossing over the line between life and ᴅᴇᴀтн, Rademenes started to take care of others animal at the shelter as a real nurse. He gave hugs, warming cuddle and lick ears of other patients when they rest.
It looks like Rademenes has learnt about give and take from human after survived. Probably, as an ıll, abandoned cat, he understood other’s ᴘᴀιɴ and began to learn the importance of share love and support.
Lucyna said: “Maybe he knew he was near the end and began fighting for his life. Whatever the case, he was soon as right as rain…Now he cuddles and hugs other sɪᴄᴋ animals. He cleans them, sleeps with them and pays particular attention to those suffering from serious disease. We joke that he is now one of our full time nurses.”
At this time, Rademenes is officially become a full-time staff of the animal shelter in Poland. Those animals who receive the love and care of Rademenes recover much faster than others.
A Canadian vet, Karen Patrick, is working in Poland had a visit to Rademenes when she read Rademenes’s story in the Internet. She surprised: “This sounds ridiculous but he actually comes out to greet new people coming in, which is really, really endearing.”
